Junior Kindergarten
Junior kindergarten is specifically designed for children who need the gift of time prior to their kindergarten experience. All children grow and develop differently, and junior kindergarten gives students an extra year following preschool. This program strives to foster confidence, an independent initiative for learning, self-discipline, consideration for others, accountability for one's actions, and intellectual growth. By nurturing these qualities, a positive self-image is developed in each child. With hands-on activities, the students learn by having fun. The curriculum and daily structure are aligned with preschool, and teachers will introduce kindergarten routines as well.

In junior kindergarten, we are ALWAYS learning! Our goal is to intensively foster developmental readiness for kindergarten. By the end of junior kindergarten, we want each child to be proficient and confident in their ability to “do school.” This means that any and every activity is a learning time for your child. Teachers focus on Throughlines of Creation Enjoyer, Order Discoverer, and Community Builder.
Junior kindergarten uses The Creative Curriculum to meet the unique needs of students who have already completed a preschool program but require time to fully develop their skills before kindergarten entry. Teachers reinforce preschool concepts and challenge each student to take their next step of development in language, literacy, math, cognitive, and social-emotional learning. Students practice and demonstrate their knowledge, skills, and abilities through engagement in inquiry-based learning.
