Junior Kindergarten Staff
One of my favorite Bible verses is Psalm 78:4, “We will not hide them from their children; we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the LORD, His power, and the wonders He has done.” This verse tells me that we are called to tell and teach about our God! This is a responsibility that I love. At a young age I began caring for and working with kids in various ways. After these experiences, I knew that I wanted to be a teacher.
I grew up in Caledonia and attended Dutton Christian School. I started high school at South Christian and then moved to Bartlett, TN. After finishing high school there, I came back to Grand Rapids to attend Calvin University. While going to Calvin, I met my wonderful husband-to-be, Tim, and we got married after I graduated. I taught kindergarten at Vista Charter Academy and preschool at Cutlerville Christian School before having our 2 children, Ross and Gina. I went back to teaching at BCCS in 2009. I love spending time with my family, going on walks, vacations, going to the beach, and camping.
My Deep Hope is that you know that you are God's precious child created to serve Him and serve others.
I am so honored to be part of the BCCS team! It's such a joy being a junior kindergarten teacher. I love helping these precious children grow both academically and spiritually.
I grew up attending BCCS and graduated from South Christian High School. I have a degree from Grand Valley State University in Elementary Education with an emphasis in English/ Language Arts and have started my master's degree in Literacy Studies. Before being a stay at home mom, I taught RTI at Brown Elementary for K-3rd grade students.
My husband Dave and I have two children, Elizabeth and Zach, who attend Moline Christian School. As a family we love to go camping and spend time with our family and friends. I enjoy reading, scrapbooking and card making in my spare time.
My favorite Bible passage is Zephaniah 3:17. "The Lord your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing."
My Deep Hope is that we grow in God’s love and share it with others.
